I don’t quite understand all the uproar about the fuel saving we saw at Talladega.  Was it really that big a deal; or that distracting?

It was another one of those things that, if you didn’t see the live data or hear someone talking about it, would you have realized that it was happening?  I’m betting you wouldn’t.

The racing, at the time, was enthralling: three wide, nose-to-tail.  It was a lot like the Bristol race this spring with all the comers and goers late in the race; if you didn’t know teams were having tire issues, the racing itself would have grabbed you and held your attention firmly.

Sometimes too much knowledge can be a bad thing.  It’s those ties that you need to take a step back and take yourself back to basics so you can find the enjoyment that first attracted you to the sport.
