I enjoy the annual West Coast swing. I think it’s a good way to kick the season into high gear without bad weather interrupting things too much. And, it’s a nice variety of tracks.
It’s going to be interesting to see how NASCAR approaches this segment of the schedule for, at least, 2024 with Fontana off the schedule. If it does come back as a short track, it will still give us a nice variety of tracks.
One thing I think would be cool would be if the tracks would get together and offer some sort of bonus for the top performing driver over the three races. Or maybe the top three drivers over the three races.
It wouldn’t be something that affects the point standings, or playoff points, but just a little something to add some intrigue to the early part of the schedule.
OK…idea is on the table. Now all someone has to do is find someone to fund it.
