CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two-time Daytona 500 champion Michael Waltrip announced that the 2017 Daytona 500 will be the final race in his NASCAR career.

Waltrip will make his 30th start in the Great American Race behind the wheel of the No. 15 Aaron's "Thanks Mikey" Toyota with Premium Motorsports. Waltrip has won four races in what is now known as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, with three of those victories coming at Daytona.

"I can reflect on my career with a lot of emotions and one company that has been there for me is Aaron's," said Waltrip, who retired from full-time competition in 2009. "I started working with Aaron's almost 20 years ago with some commercials and six Xfinity Series races when I had a team behind my house. We have been together ever since and it makes my heart smile thinking about all the great things we did together."

Waltrip won three Xfinity Series races with Aaron's sponsorship as a driver. As an owner, his teams took the lease-to-own furniture chain to victory lane a total of seven times in NASCAR's Xfinity and Cup series.

Aaron's announced that it will release a video showcasing some of Waltrip's top moments during their 17-year partnership.
