NASCAR has suspended Kyle Busch's crew chief Adam Stevens for one week after the team failed to secure all five lug nuts on the No. 18 Toyota Camry during the Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway.

In addition to the suspension, Stevens has been fined $20,000. The front tire changer for the No. 18 team has also been suspended for one race. Both Stevens and the tire changer have been placed on NASCAR probation through December 31.

The penalty, a P3 level infraction, was discovered after NASCAR reviewed additional video following Saturday's race. NASCAR announced the team was in violation of sections 10.11.3.4 and 12.5.3.4.1, which concern the installation of wheels, tires, and all five lug nuts in a safe and secure manner.

Joe Gibbs Racing has not yet announced if they will appeal the penalty.
