I, admittedly, was not a fan of the Chases for Xfinity and Trucks.  But, now that they're here, I have to admit that I'm liking them more than I thought I would.

I'm liking them mostly because it has us talking about those series more than usual.

At this time of year, the Xfinity and Truck teams were getting lost in all the talk about what was going on in the Cup Chase.  Now, they're getting some of the spotlight.

While there may be Cup regulars running in the Xfinity companion events, the series regulars won't have to be winning to get attention.  There will be plenty of drama surrounding them as they try to stay alive for their championship.

Often times, the unintended consequences of changes are negative; and while I won't say that NASCAR didn't consider the additional attention on the Xfinity and Truck series regulars at this point in the season, I don't believe it was necessarily top-of-mind.  In this case, the unintended consequences are good.
