This teammates situation we saw in Richmond last week, is a relatively new phenomenon in NASCAR.  Go back 25 years, and there were very few multi-car teams; much less 4-car operations with satellite teams.

Human nature is to be reactionary rather than preventative.  After the incident at Bristol where spectator Erin Vandyke was clipped by Kyle Busch, maybe we'll see NASCAR and the tracks crack down, once again, on Hot Pit Passes.

Do politics really need to make their way into every facet of our lives?

I find that, occasionally, those of us in the media take for-granted the access we have to the people we cover.  In fact, it's kind of funny to watch the buzz that runs through the media center when a celebrity from a different walk of life comes in; versus when a driver, crew chief or car owner comes in.
