NASCAR has a new home on the airwaves in Charlotte and the Triad, thanks to an exclusive partnership between Performance Racing Network, Motor Racing Network and iHeartMedia, Inc.'s WEND New Rock 106.5FM.

Beginning this Sunday, race fans across the greater-Charlotte region and throughout parts of the Triad can tune in to live race coverage from 38 races on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule, including the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race (May 16), the Coca-Cola 600 (May 24) and Bank of America 500 (Oct. 10).

"The Charlotte region is the home of NASCAR and it's only fitting that the millions of fans across our markets have a consistent place to find NASCAR broadcasts on the radio," said Tim Schuldt, vice president of consumer marketing and sales at Charlotte Motor Speedway. "Having worked with the Charlotte iHeartRadio cluster closely for many years, we couldn't think of a better organization with which to expand our partnership. PRN and their counterparts at MRN will bring more than 125 hours of live NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage to millions of fans in the epicenter of NASCAR through the powerhouse signal of 106.5 The END."

The three-year partnership ensures that fans will have regular access to race-day coverage through the 2017 season.

Doug Rice, president and general manager of the Performance Racing Network said, "PRN considers it an honor to continue to bring our lap-by-lap coverage of the races originating from all the SMI owned tracks, as well as the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway, to the avid fans right here in Charlotte, North Carolina."

"MRN is excited to be teaming with PRN and The END to bring radio coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series back to the listeners in Charlotte, beginning with our coverage of The Daytona 500. The Queen City is the hub of the NASCAR industry and the fans and teams will now be able to keep up with all the action by simply tuning the FM dial all the way up to The END - 106.5," said David Hyatt, president and executive producer of Motor Racing Network.

Home to the syndicated "Woody & Wilcox" show, WEND is also the local affiliate for "Scratch 'n Sniff" and home to radio personality Jack Daniel. The 84,000-watt signal broadcasts across the Charlotte region and in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point market.

"The sport of NASCAR is coming off of one of the strongest and most entertaining seasons in recent memory," said Charlie Wilkinson, regional market manager for Clear Channel's Charlotte radio stations. "We know the region's fan base is huge and we are looking forward to establishing ourselves as the go-to station across the 106.5 WEND listening area for race-day coverage starting this weekend with the Daytona 500."
