RICHMOND, Va. -- Richard Childress Racing announced Friday that Austin Dillon will be without the services of crew chief Slugger Labbe for this weekend's event at Richmond International Raceway.
The team released a statement saying that operations manager Sammy Johns will lead Dillon's No. 3 team for the Toyota Owners 400 weekend.
"Operations Director Sammy Johns will replace Slugger Labbe as the crew chief on the RCR No. 3 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Chevrolet this weekend at Richmond International Raceway. Labbe will remain at the RCR shop to work on cars for next weekend's race at Talladega Superspeedway."
Labbe has been with RCR since joining the organization with driver Paul Menard in 2011.
