I find that, occasionally, those of us in the media take for-granted the access we have to the people we cover.  In fact, it's kind of funny to watch the buzz that runs through the media center when a celebrity from a different walk of life comes in; versus when a driver, crew chief or car owner comes in.

We say that we are acting on the fans' behalf, and, ultimately, we are.  But, still, it's good to get reminders at how things look through the eyes of a fan; the folks who are spending their hard-earned money to go to races and to buy souvenirs.

That's one of the reasons that the video of Kyle Busch connecting with the fan while sitting in traffic at Martinsville is so cool.  If you haven't seen it yet, it's well-worth looking up.  The woman's reaction to Kyle talking to her is priceless.  The pure emotion should remind us how many see these drivers as 'bigger than life'.  And, how one brief moment can really make a difference.
