The famous line from Forrest Gump, "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get", certainly applies to this NASCAR season.

I've talked often, on this show, about how it's the unexpected and unpredictable things that we love about sports.  Those are the things that keep us coming back.

But, unexpected and unpredictable aren't always necessarily good.  And, this season is a perfect example.  If in February, I'd told you that we'd only have 6 different winners 16 races into the season, you'd have questioned my sanity (more than usual).

And, how about what we saw last weekend at Sonoma?  Heck, let's throw Martinsville in there too.  Two tracks where we expect to see drivers get physical…both went virtually caution-free!

But, don't turn away yet.  There's another old saying "past performance doesn't guarantee future success".  The year isn't even halfway done, and unexpected and unpredictable are still around.
